Positive and Negative for Raufoss

Positive –
Good communication and quick shipping of USP SD9 and (6) white mags. A very nice pistol bag was included as an extra since he advertised the pistol with no box included. As advertised, the gun was in great condition and I am pleased with this purchase and thanked him for the unexpected extra.

There was a slight problem with the (6) mags I received. (3) of the six were in .40sw, not 9mm. Since Raufoss said he must have mixed them up when packing the box, I returned the (3) in .40sw for an exchange. Again good communication, and no big deal to exchange (3) mags.

Neutral –
Then a delay was announced. He said he needed to order the mags as he didn’t have 3 more in 9mm. I don’t mind a reasonable wait, so I waited. Periodic calls yielded “they haven’t arrived yet” and no date on when they would arrive so I would get the (3) 9mm white mags owed me.

As time marches on, finding an alternative item(s) as a substitute can be the next best thing when a person hasn’t delivered on the remaining items owed. At the 60 day mark, patience wearing a little thin, we talked again. Since it was still unknown when the mags would arrive, I suggested a $150 cash refund which I would use to purchase the mags from other sources. Raufoss wasn’t happy with this suggested alternative to complete the sale and rejected it.

Negative –
Rather than explore further and find an mutually acceptable substitute to complete the sale, all communication by Raufoss has ceased as of October 31st. He hasn’t called back as promised, no phone calls of mine have been answered, no voicemail messages of mine have been returned, and of course I still don’t have the (3) remaining 9mm white mags (or an acceptable substitute).

Three options for immediate resolution have been put in writing and mailed to Raufoss:
send me (3) 9mm white mags
or
send me (3) .40sw white mags
or
send me $150.00 cash

The ball is in Raufoss’ court to deliver.

Administrative note: user raufoss has been banned from HKPRO since August of this year.

NOTE: His change in status does not have any bearing on this transaction. Our transaction was conducted while he was in good standing here on HKPRO. I received the pistol / mags prior to his change in status and was pleased with the transaction as noted above. There was just one small thing to fix.

In fact, after his change in status Raufoss went to the trouble of having HKPRO administrators pass along a message for me to contact him while I was slogging thru the mud officiating at the USPSA Nationals. That tells me he’s a stand up guy who wants to do right.

My posting of this is to give feedback on the transaction, the delay in concluding it, and should he be reinstated, feedback for others to evaluate him by.
