My fellow CA gun owners, time to call Jerry Brown.

SB 374 passed the legislature today 9/10/13. Next step is for Brown to veto, sign or not sign and allow to become law by October 13th. Governors contact link here Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. - Contact

If not stopped SB 374 will ban all centerfire semi-automatic rifles with a magazine or feeding device (vague enough to include tube fed rifles and clips) where the magazine can be “readily” removed with a tool or has a detachable magazine.

Here is an excerpt from the most current content of SB 374

SB 374 will ban all bullet button and featureless ARs, AKs, Ruger mini-14’s and 30’s along with any other semi-automatic rifle with a feeding device.

This bill gets worse. SB 374 has been amended to include SB 47. If SB 374 is passed it will create an even larger ban on rifles that may arguably include SKS and M1A1 rifles. One of the things it now does is redefines the DOJs definition of a magazine to include almost anything that holds ammunition in a firearm.

    Here the an excerpt

Without removal of the firearm action! Even the old top feeding ARs with pinned mags won’t work with this law.

SB 374 will create a monster that will turn millions of Californians into felons. At least calgunners may be aware of this if it passes but what about all the other shooters with mini-14’s in their closets. They’ll become felons overnight and never know it until the day they’re arrested and become prohibited.

Make no mistake about these laws. They are not designed to reduce crime or to even make sense.
They are designed to disarm the public and create felons out of those who do not comply. This is straight out of Australias playbook. Ban the semi-autos first, then go after the bold action and lever rifles.

So maybe now some are frustrated, blood pressure is up a bit and some have been alleviated as to any doubt about what the authors of these bills are trying to do. Can they be stopped? We have to choices. Role over and raise the white flag as you lose the chance to help your children buy their first AR or other rifle in California. The other choice is to fight the legislation at every opportunity. Give the authors of these bills no quarter!

Join the fight now! Do something now! The legislature will be voting on SB 374 tomorrow! If you haven't done so call your representatives. Even today the legislature was still trying to get votes to pass the gun bills.

If SB 374 does pass the Governor can still be petitioned to veto by October 13th. Besides signing petitions there are additional things that can be done to get the word out.

Call the Governor Brown. Phone: (916) 445-2841
Write Governor Brown. Governor Jerry Brown

Also:Remember it’s not just calguns in this fight anymore. CGSSA along with other second amendment organizations created a unified front and have formed the Liberty Foundation.

A final note, this thread for members to become informed, to spread this information, to link as reference, to volunteer and to fight this onslaught!

    stop with the moving crap.
start with the standing up and fighting.
if Colorado can take a stand so can and should California.

The problem is in the numbers. Liberals (and takers) hold the major cities, while gun lovers are the minority. There is a reason Frankenstein hasnt been voted out, even though she AND her Govt Contracted husband are criminals.

Not many other places in the US have MORE people receiving welfare than TAXPAYERS paying into the system.

Not to mention California is the central hub for Government abuse of taxpayer funds.
