It was suggested to me, by a Browning importer in Canada, that "the HK importer, perhaps in Montreal" might be a source for some HK parts I'm seeking (and from asking in the past, HK-USA doesn't have them).
Any suggestion who that importer in Canada might be? I'm striking out with my google and other searches. The only one I found gave me a terse "no, don't have them, and don't ship to the states").
R. Nicholls Distributors is the official importer of HK in Canada. I believe they only source from HK Germany and not HK-USA. They are absolutely terrible to deal with if you are not LE/Mil. Most HK shooters in Canada don't even bother to try to contact them.
I have been successful getting HK parts from Wolverine Supplies, a retailer in Manitoba. It can take quite a while for them to get parts if they don't stock it and they either don't stock a lot of HK or it goes fast. If Wolverine has it they probably are familiar with what it takes to import to the US. I have no idea myself.
Tried several places back with original post. I forget what the actual response was, but one place was not going to sell to me in the USA (and HK-USA wasn't going to sell into Canada), and seems like another was getting out of HK or business in general (don't quote me, I just don't recall). Regardless, it was a no-go.
HK 300 receiver cap for s.n. > 15,000, and original HK 300 buffers. I bought a nice 300 about 4 years ago, very good condition and with the HK05 QD mount, for about $750 total, because it lacked the receiver cap. Haven't found one yet (for s.n. > 15K). Instead I bought a 300 in poor condition and took its cap. And I bought a new stock, so if I ever do find a cap, I'll have another good to go 300.
RJ nichols has gone out of business. As of now there is no official HK importer/distributor into Canada. Need Parts, go through irunguns or prophet river and be prepared to pay big bucks in import fees. Until another distributor steps up, us Canadian HK owners are SOL.
Woleverine has almost run out of parts and they wont be getting anymore until a new distributor steps up, as per wolfgang at wolverine.
how are the prices in Canada vs US? I live just on the border so it's not as expensive for me to order some HK parts to the US and bring them over rather than buying domestically.
I haven't bought parts yet, but my P30L was...1300? and my HK45 was 1200.
Mags are $80~$100 depending on what you find them.
Right now I'm looking at mags for my HK45 at $90
...and dreaming about my future SL8 at $2300
