I searched a few local gunshops - no MSAR's in stock.

I put a deposit down on a PTR-91... now that the bug has bit me, I want to figure out what other HK or quality HK-clones I should buy that are legal.

I was looking into a SP89 clone or building one from a clone reciever.. But by reading the laws it does not look like they are accepted in CT either. I really like the SP89 pistol, but of course CT does not specify it on the banned list and is something that you have to look into. Some one told me that a CA89 pistol weighs less than 50 oz's which would work in CT, but still has the detach mag, pistol grip and the forened grip. I am not sure if I can get around the fixed mag, but saw somthing called a Raddlock which is used in California and is CA compliant, for fixing a magazine. If CA can own one why not CT??? If anyone has some light to shed on this weapon being legal or illegal in CT I would love to hear it.

Look again. The SP89 is indeed directly named in the ban, besides the fact that the magazine is attached outside of the pistol grip... another No-No.

I know this is a really old thread.... but I was talking about a SP89 CLONE not a HK SP89, I know in fact the HKSP89s are on the ban list. A CA89 Coharie Arms 89 supposedly weighs less than 50 oz's CT maximum weight for a pistol ... I have a clone MP5 SBR and a clone MP5K SBR those are both CT legal, so I was inquiring about the clone SP89's legality? Any thoughts?

Wow, never heard about the less than 50 oz thing. Highly doubtful IMO. However your sbr's are legal cuz they are sbr's. clone SP89 is still a pistol. not gonna fly in CT if it actually is over 50 oz which I think it is unless it's made out of carbon fiber.

    I could be wrong though.
