I know a few of you have this set-up, since your pictures of them posted here is what inspired me to build mine.

I ask because mine is at my gunsmiths to get a picatinny rail welded to the top, and I'd like to get a Pelican 1495 case for it, but don't know if it will fit.

Well, those that side my family pic thread will know that I just picked up a USP45 Tactical! I love the gun, but I'm not fond of the adjustable sights. I could live without tritium but they're not even dot sights! I'd really like to replace them, and with adjustable night sights- preferably tall ones like the current ones. What would you folks suggest? I'm only aware of the green/green ones from Meprolight...is there anything I'm missing? The Trijicon HDs are nice but I can't see going to fixed sights with a tack driver like this Tactical.

Also, has anyone sent theirs in to have vials installed in stock sights? I can't remember the company that does this but it's bookmarked, so I can find it. Has anyone had it done? I realize it wouldn't save any money but the target/tactical sights are otherwise very nice.

Thanks!

My MM23E is going to be delivered on Thursday, and I am super excited about it, and I'm trying to decide what optic to put on it. It has the Coast Guard rails, and the rail in front of the rear sight, so mounting options are easy.

As far as what I usually run....I do not have an magnified optics on any gun that I own, except for my tack driver. Everything else, I prefer irons or if optics, just red dot sights. All of my ARs have Aimpoint T1 micros on them. I have a couple Trijicon RMRs on various other guns. My Integrally suppressed Ruger 10/22 has a T1 Micro on it. Lastly, my only other full auto beltfed that I own (M60 E4) has an Eotech sight on it.

I was thinking on just slapping yet another Aimpoint T1 Micro on it, but that seems like it may be too small of an opening? That's one reason I have an Eotech on the M60. Would an Eotech look to large on an MM23E?

Really, just looking for pictures of red dots and Eotech on them, and also opinions on what you think would be good. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions!

HK45C gunlock pin - Is this normal?

After putting the first 200 rounds through my FDE HK45C, I finally got around to installing the light LEM trigger setup. Everything went smoothly...

After putting the first 200 rounds through my FDE HK45C, I finally got around to installing the light LEM trigger setup. Everything went smoothly and easily, but I did notice a potential issue with the gunlock pin (cylindrical pin in parts diagram) during disassembly/reassembly. The first thing I noticed after removing the back strap was that the gunlock pin appeared to not be fully inserted. Although one edge of the pin was resting flush with the corresponding hole in the frame, the other edge didn't even reach the other frame hole. So, the pin was only securing the gunlock to one side of the frame mount and was sitting crooked as a result. After removal of the pin, I noticed the pin holes in the lock/frame were wallowed out slightly from the partially inserted pin, but nothing too bad.

When I reassembled, I tried to center the pin so that it rested in both holes of the frame, but this wasn't easy. There really isn't that much pin resting in the frame holes. Like I said before, with the pin flush on one side, it doesn't even reach to the other side.

Does this sound normal to you guys? I can see no mechanical advantage to using such a short pin in this location, especially when the parts being joined are plastic. I realize that the site probably doesn't bear that much load from the hammer strut, but I'm considering replacing the pin with a longer one. It bothers me that the pin either came from the factory resting out of position or worked its way out after less than 200 rounds.

Any thoughts?

Using a thumbs high/forward grip, I'm unknowingly contacting the P30's slide release on each shot, which causes the slide to not lock back on the last round. To those that use a similar grip, and who have been fortunate enough to shoot the 45c, P30, and/or P2000, how do these different guns compare in that regard? I'd imagine the P30's would be easier to trip, given the longer release lever. Thanks.

I am looking for a FTF in the DFW, TX area. If I don't get any "takers" I may open it up to shipping later. Here's what I have:

H&K P30S V3 .40 cal with Meprolight night sights. Superb condition showing no exterior wear, scratching, etc. (the spots in the photo is oil). It comes with original case, two 13rd mags, manual, lock and grip panels. AK date code (2009). I am the second owner and the round count is approximately 500-600.

$800.00 firm. Trades: Really the only thing I am looking for is a 1911 in .45 (full size or commander). I am partial to the Springfield TRP, MC Operator and so on. That's about where I would want to start considering 45's and then move into the higher end offerings. However, if you have something else you want to propose (in the way of other firearms) I will listen and politely decline if I can't use it. I might be tempted by a P7M8, as I once carried one on duty and wish I had it back. Plus cash on my end for what I am looking for of course...

Please PM any questions or trade offers.
