Most of the parts were purchased from RobertRTG.com and hkparts.net. I wanted to thank everyone for all the information on this forum, I would not have been able to build this rifle without it. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures during the build, I built it on Saturdays while my daughter was napping and didn't spend the time documenting and photographing like I should have. I will post targets once I get out to the range. I will also try and insert photos of my bending jig (crude but effective). Lady luck was smiling upon me today, as I went into my local shooting range (Shoot Straight Tampa) and asked if they had received any HK 45 Tacticals in Tan or OD. The initial answer was no, but within 20 or so minutes of leaving the store, the Assistant Manager called me and told me to turn back around. Lo and behold, they had just received a new shipment of HK pistols. Included in that shipment was one Tan HK Tactical pistol! What a stunning gun! I am proud to add it to my collection!

As an added bonus, as I have my FFL, I was able to take the gun to the range immediately after I purchased it. Needless to say, it did not disappoint! What a wonderful gun!

First images are reaching out with the MR556A1 at 100yds with Eotech XPS2-2 with 3x STS magnifier - alternated shots between the paper target and AR500 "Ping" spinner target placed ~5ft to the right.

Then switched to 416D .22LR with iron sights to less accurate results, although it was pinging the steel about 1/2 the shots.

The rest are at 25yds with USP40 w/Surefire X400 and P9S 9mm.

All I can say is WOW! After only 168 rounds, I think I found my new favorite all-around use gun. With the extended 10rd mags for some added grip real estate, I shoot it as well as my HK45. I see this thing replacing my HK45 full size as a night stand gun and spending a lot of time on my belt in place of my current everyday carry P2000SK.

My only minor gripe is that the trigger reset is a bit notchy. A few times I found myself going to squeeze the trigger for a quick second shot only to realize that I hadn't let it fully reset. This might be a good excuse to send it off to Gray Guns!

Only problem now is finding a quality rail mounted light that does not require an allen key to remove it. My TLR-1 that currently resides on my HK45 doesn't fit on the compact. I really like the new Viridian offerings, but don't want to have to use tools every time I take it out of my nightstand drawer and place it in my holster.

She's a filthy, filthy American-born German after a day at the range...

I got the HK bug recently and was able to horse trade some with a member of another... I am a newbie, stopping in to show you the reason I signed up. I got the HK bug recently and was able to horse trade some with a member of another forum who was local. He bought this gun new and put about 300 rds. thru it and decided it wasn't what he wanted. It has night sites and came with (3) magazines which is good because they are terribly expensive and not easy to find. This is my first .40 cal. gun so we'll see how it goes. I was able to score some .40 ammo, in fact several places had some. This version is a P30 LEM V2 trigger. It is quite a bit different than my Sigs but I think I can adapt to it with some practice time. I will say this about HK, they have the best grip system going. You have three different backstraps and three different side panels. After tying different combinations I hit the perfect combo for my hand. All pistol grips should be made that way. Some pictures for now and maybe a range report if the rain holds off.
