I shoot at American Gun Range in Pembroke Pines, FL. Good people at this range, Duke knows his guns and is helpful. Have taken my girlfriend there and she enjoyed it as well, good overall environment and fair prices.

I've also shot at Big Al's and at Aces but I don't frequent there, something just doesn't feel right at those two places. Also, at Arizona Gun Range in Tamarac on University, nice shop and big range.
Me? I don't own any firearms...

Duke left American when the owner was jacked for firearm violations. The range is under new ownership and management and is now called Pembroke Range and Gun. The manager is Steve and the range is on the upswing after a period of uncertinty. It is a good, no probably the best place for practice from a holster. Many LE and .Gov trainers use the place as do most of the club shooters for practice. Your not required to buy their ammo (unless you rent one of their guns) and can shoot rapid fire. They do maintain safety standards there which is why Big Al's of OFF the list in my view. The gangster factor over there is a bit high for many of the locals tastes.

Although I have not been to Aces, speaking to shooters who have I understand they are slow fire only, no holster, my ammo only place with a lot of customers complaining about the service and attitudes.

I have been waiting to hear about Weston Arms off 595 opening a small indoor range upstairs.

Has Weston Arms opened their range because I called a month ago and it was still closed?

Big Als lets people get away with anything. Im in the gables and go to Ace's though i cant stand it. it just weirds me out over there. Though they do have alot of guns for rent. Right now im setting up a private outdoor range in unincorporated dade county. 1 mile from anything. building a berm next week

Let me know when that's done I'm in. Ace's is a pain but like you said they do have almost anything you can think of for rent.

I go to Florida Gun Center a lot. As they only charge you for one hour and you can shoot as much as you want. Mornings during the week are better place is almost empty.

Trail Glades ain't bad if you can deal with the safety Nazi's, lol.

A range down south where the people running it aren't pricks, would make a killing. It's amazing what decent people skills could do for a business. Unfortunately not many have figured that out yet.

Trail Glades is the worst. I think the reason people dont open up ranges is the insurance. When i get the property ready. To shoot on private land, you need a letter from the owner stating date and exact time you are shooting. Also for my piece of mind i have to come up with a waiver form for people to sign. But i will definitely let you know.

I usually go to Ace's, I'm not a fan either, but their evening hours are about the only time I can make it to the range. I've been to FL Gun Center as well and I like the folks there more, but it seems pretty small and somewhat out of the way since I'm in the Grove. Plus I'm not sure how late they are open.

I wish someone would open a decent range down here.

Trail Glades is very relaxed when compared to Markham Park.
However, it's all in the interest of safety from the in-experienced shooters

Just thought i'd update. The private range hit a hickup, just trying to figure out the laws better so i don't take a few yr vacation. I been going to Bass Pro in Dania for the past few weeks. the ventilation amazing and your not shooting at targets on string. However the only have 6 lanes of pistol and 2 lanes of rifle.
Though they came up with some unbelievable rule yesterday. No .223 fmj in the rifle range only softpoint and HPs. Pretty ridiculous.
