    Default Zero tolerance LE/Mil bashing?

Compared to other forums it seems to be a very rare occurrence here on the PRO, but some places have adopted a "No police/military bashing" policy. 99% of the time, it's people complaining about police. Again, it doesn't happen here often, but in the 2 or 3 times I can recall, it gets a little ugly, nothing ever gets resolved an no one is better for it.

    Just a thought.

I second the Zero tolerance policy. I never served in either yet to blatantly disrespect these fellow members who risk their lives for us is absolutely unacceptable.

Assuming we are referring to the ongoing event in the Premium section.
Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least
capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded
with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

That'd be the one. Although it does tend to bring out the true colors of some, I wouldn't imagine it fit's the HKPro mission.

To play devil's advocate here, what if someone wants to discuss a crime committed by someone in uniform, for example getting caught selling drugs or guns to known felons, or convicted of a crime? While I don't care for talking smack about those who serve, I don't think I'm comfortable creating a protected class where people are only allowed to make happy talk about certain groups, especially in the Premium sections like the Soapbox or Lounge.

How do you define bashing anyway? I've seen the thread I think you're talking about in the Premium section, and don't see an issue there. Someone makes a comment, and others make it clear that they don't agree with it. Don't like someone's comment? Then tell them so or just ignore it. I think the rule being proposed sounds a bit red. If this goes through, then what other groups will want special protection?

I will support my U.S. troops and those that stand with them in the times of peace and war. I also know a lot of Leo's are former military. I won't bash the Leos as a whole. But it does seem to me the bigger a holes flock to be Leo's. I Understand leo main duty is to return home safely and then protect the community. But speed traps, cameras, and seat belt tickets are a joke. And I doubt he is on here but if you are here, no one has ever died in a 15 mph zone not everyone that has a grateful dead sticker on their truck is a drug dealer. So after you toss my truck over, busting my balls, and write me a $125 seat belt ticket and wearing a stupid little grin while telling me to have a nice day an hour later, I hope you go and get your free hot cup of coffee at dunkin donuts cause I think they have the best coffee, and spill it on your boys so you can no longer reproduce. And after the doctor tells you will be unable to have kids I hope he tells you to have a nice day.

I think the outcome of that thread proves my point that there was nothing to gain from that. If such a thing does happen, obviously it will not be up to me to determine what qualifies what stays or what goes. I am always for intelligent discussion if it stays intelligent and civil. However, history is shown that certain topics always tend to strike a nerve and bring about ugliness. For that reason some discourage or even prohibit political discussion and religion as well. In the end it is neither my decision or yours, but that of the HKPro admins.

Ask yourself. Do posts (like Joho's above) increase or detract from the integrity of this website?

What do I consider bashing? I think the above is a fair example. I think a fair barometer is that if such a thing were said directly to a fellow member, would it qualify as a "personal attack?"

Just my .02 worth but I think these threads derails this forum from its original core which is hk. Just because some Leo's carry them to protect themselves in the line of duty does not mean hk pro forum needs to protect certain groups feelings when it has nothing to do with the product itself. If I want to talk about bashing my profession I will go see a shrink. I come here for the passion and info for a certain product.

Its in the Soapbox section, which really isn't HK. There is clearly a difference between bashing and constructive criticism. I'm not in favor of a protected class. That said, its easier to have a zero tolerane policy so that no one has to think.

To add to my above sentiment, I don't feel that anyone that is sworn, has served, or sports a blue name badge requires any special "protection" here; it's about integrity. Frankly, had I not been warned about it previously, I would just assume use the malevolent behavior that is widely condoned on other forums to cull the herd. But as I said, that is not the HKPro way.

HKPro has been able to keep its civility intact longer than many other special interest forums. However, we have to live with a major social stigma of being the Mecca for HK fanboys which keep of free of several respected industry professionals that still brave the dregs of the internet like AR15.com. It does not benefit us to act like a bunch of bickering monkeys on top of that.

And as I said, I am offering something for consideration. Any decision is ultimately that of the administration.

As a veteran I also support LEOs. But, I agree with taking the stance of not creating a protected class on the board.

    HK imported Benelli M1S90
HK SL8-6 converted by Tom Bostic ( He forgot to thread the barrel. Trying to sell a few parts to fund shipping to him... )
