I didnt read the whole thing, but I'm assuming they're refering to ccw'ing a gun. If you check it in properly (with tags), and dont remove it from the case until you're out of the airport should be OK, I'd imagine...
Despite the new CCW law, they made the airport a gun-free zone. Not sure to what extent gun-free is, I guess I can't fly in with my guns (checked in) to protect myself on business or to hunt anymore, until this BS is cleared up.

New gun law sets stage for airport showdown
Top city officials will announce Tuesday that despite a new state gun law that went into effect at midnight, they will have anyone carrying a weapon at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport arrested. The state lawmaker who sponsored the new gun law says if they do, the city will immediately be sued. And state Rep. Tim Bearden (R-Villa Rica) said the plaintiff in the lawsuit could be himself.

Nothing a couple wrongful arrest lawsuits won't clear up pretty quickly
Where is that New York State?
No this is at the airport in GA...
I read that the mayor "declared" the airport a gun-free zone. She must think she can nullify state law by some such nonsense. The city is being sued over it now.
Geez - this mayor has been spending too much time with Bl00mberg... Only thing that gives NYC that power is the Sullivan Act from 1911 (which is messed up to begin with). GA doesn't have that.
The airport here in Virginia did the same thing. They claimed that the entire airport jurisdiction was under their control and they had Federal authority to arrest CCW holders. The interesting part was, that jusidiction extended out to a major highway. They claimed they could arrest CCW holders just for driving on that section of the highway, even if they were never going to the airport.
Someone should inform them that it's not an Embassy! LOL
Court ruled today and upheld the gun ban...
