No, there is really no difference.
In most cases all what is required is to partly block the barrel.
The trick is, to know how much you block it and how much powder to use in the blanks.

Ummm i dont mean to take the show away from the guns...but anyone notice that the episodes in season 3 are of a lower quality than seasons 1 and 2. Maybe its just me...but I still love this show.

By "quality" i mean the strength of the show..aka plot line and the direction it is going.

You are right about this, the stories are kind of flat.
Also it seems to me, that they make cuts were ever they can.

I disagree, the story is shifting and changing. it's gone from a guy trying to get his job back to the relationships from the past he's reconnected with and embraced.

and did you notice the season 3 summer finale had a scene in which a SS USP Compact was the star?

yes the stainless Compact was a nice addition...

I have noticed the season 3 episodes are different. I feared this would happen to this show, once the original plot line (who burned Michael and how to get back in from the cold) ran out, the show would suffer. so far, I didn't think season 3 was bad, just different, I guess we'll see in Jan. when season 3.5 or whatever USA calls it starts up...

I still like it, even when very unrealistic it is entertaining.

I saw an episode a few days ago where Michael was black mailed into working for an arms dealer he had previously dealt with. He had to go to a mans house and get him to say his name and each number from 0-9. Michael was informed that the guy was a "gun nut." Upon entering the man's house, we see a glass case with several firearms in it. The pistol most prominently displayed is none other than the venerable HK Mk 23 SOCOM! The scene ends with the "gun nut" running out of his house firing away at michael with a USP Stainless Match that appeared to be a .45.

As for the show...I'm a fan, but Michael Weston is no Jack Bauer!
