I was sort of watching MI3 recently -- really just tuning in when HKs were on screen -- and I was reminded how demonstrably little the people behind some movies seem to know about the weapons they showcase.
For instance, in MI3, Tom Cruise's character has to stop and assemble a G36k, presumably disassembled to make it more compact, to fight off bad guys. It's hard to imagine much space is saved by breaking the gun down, versus, um, using the folding stock. I'm sure the scene is meant to develop tension, but still ...
