    Default H&K demil kit question

I finally found a HK G3 demilled kit to build and I have several questions.

The trigger group is a H&K metal housing with the selector marked SEF. Is there any reliability difference between the metal and the plastic lowers? Is one more desirable than the other?

My kit does not say H&K anywhere on it. I've read up on markings to see if I could identify it, but I haven't had any luck. There are no Arabic markings, nor does it say POF or FMP on it anywhere. The rifle looks worn on the outside but the bore is clean like it was carried a lot but not fired a lot. Any ideas of where it could have come from? Thanks!

There's no reliability difference, but I like the plastic lowers better because they don't get the big shiny arc on the side like the metal ones do where the selector wears through the paint.

As for the origin, even on contract built examples, there are usually markings on them somewhere. The barrel near the trunion is a common area. The rest would be on the magwell, and so you may or may not have any left after its sliced up.

Most people also opt for the plastic ones because they are much easier to clip & pin. The metal ones, however, will give you that 'vintage' look.
