what kind of receiver and rifle did you mount it on? Most rec. are not in spec. PTR receivers are made to german specs. www.mg-42.net has some info on this
Hello All,
So this is the deal: mounted a very good condition Z24 and factory mount on my clone.
Did not have to remove the plastic button in the rear to get it to attach. (See CTD remarks at Z24 listing)
This is the problem: Once zeroed at 100M, if you tighten the elevation knob screw you cannot turn the elevator. If you back off the screws crank the elevation so you are 3" High at 100M and then tighten the set screws you are OK, you can then use the graduated elevator out to 600M.
The possible rootcause: (Yes, I are En-gin-eer) Rear sight base too (high/low)
Trunion/barrel not concentric (up/down/left right) Scope to mount interface (tilted up/down) etc.
These are the questions: Did the plastic buttons, that are removeable come in different thicknesses, or did the armourers shim the scopes on the mounts ?
Any input will be appreciated.
I do not think I will mess with the buttons if they do not come in different elevations, I think I will shim the scope to mount attachment per the formula for elevation correction.
Thanks

OK, Here goes.
It is the dreaded "Hesse", Go ahead and flame me.
It was cheap, with lots of parts and accessories.
Shoots and cycles well.
The buttons that sometimes must be removed are not the ones on the bottom side of the mount that contact the receiver. There is also a plastic bumper on the rear of the mount. Those sometimes interfere with the rear sight base and must be removed.
So there are not adjustable buttons that are used to change the elevation.
But it's odd that you can't turn the knob with the screws tightened. No idea what's wrong there.

Thanks for info!
Mine has G3 sight base, so button on the rear is non issue.
I will make a shim to go between the mount and scope.
