Greetings gents. HK 33/93 receiver vs the 53......is it the same? Basically am I correct to believe the 53 is a 93 with a shorter barrel, shorter cocking handle tube and support and uber kewl flash suppressor?
Thanks!

WRONGO! They are different depending on the supplier. If you are buying a new 53 receiver from TB they have the cocking assembly built into the upper, if your buying a 33 receiver it will be standard and not have the cocking tube assembly built into it. I've seen both these and thats currently whats out there don't mix them up or you'll have a funny looking gun. I was going to post these the other night, but the thread was deleted.
Here is the new 53 receiver, see how it has the cutting assembly cut into it. The 93 receiver wont have this, however you can modify a 93 receiver to the same specs.
The new cocking tubes are cut and slotted for this specific receiver:

UHm CK is correct they are the same OTHER than the slot is cut into the reciever on the FACTORY 53 reciever. You CAN use a 33/93 reciever for a 53 build, you would just have to have the slot machined/ dremeled/cut into the reciever just like what any of the smiths or manufacturers have to do !!!!!!
Glad I asked. Thanks. A pic is worth a 1000 words. So...to be strait there are many ways to skin a cat.
