Yes there is therapy.....buy more clones!! Feed the beast!

Hello. My name is Houston ("hello houston" in response from crowd) and I am an HK addict. I have not purchased an HK, clone, or part in....24 hrs ("congratulation" from the crowd")....
I have a problem. At first it was just a bit of a nag but it worsened and now it's destroying my gun collection life (for the record I'm a shooter, not a "collector"). I'm curious if others out there have faced such challenges and am curious as to how/if they overcame it.
I have a list of FA transferables I'd one day like to own. Sure, I have the short list and the "longer jackpot lottery list",etc, etc. Been collecting since '99 but more intensely over last 4 yrs really.
I've "tried" to save up and buy a RR Uzi now for like 2 years. Every single da@mn time I get enough money to buy one...I end up spending those funds on another freakin' HK host for my sear. I've even gone so far as to actually buy a second sear instead of buying that Uzi...or that RDIAS...or that AUG...etc,etc. WTF? I mean sure "I got a great deal on it", yadda, yadda...but really, am I ever gonna go blazing FA doublefisted with HK sear hosts? Stupid is as stupid does.
Sure, other platforms nibble away at my cash stash ...a Lage upper here, a suppressor there, a scope for the Barrett, ammo stash, frankenmags, Betas, larger gun safe, whatnot. But the HK clones are killing me. And I'm sick of it. Every time I accumulate a couple-few Gs (earmark'd specifically for an Uzi purchas, mind you)...I blow it. I choke. I see a Michaels Machine or Ghillie build or a de-mill kit. You name it.
Is this common among sear holders? Is there therapy? Will I ever be able to actually save enough money to buy that Uzi...or am I doomed for eternity to the HK host world?
Here's what I say to those collectors/shooters who are contemplating buying a sear...
All hope abandon ye who enter here....you might not ever own another non-HK platform weapon.

Houston - I saw your host collection at Ghillie's MG shoot AND you were super cool to let me and others shoot them.
I am slowly working my way towards an HK style sear. Alhthough there are other guns I want (P90 SBR, AUG, etc) I dont think I will ever buy them because the roller lock sears and host guns are so versatile. You only need to buy one full auto pack to enjoy it with multiple calibers and hosts from fire breathing pistols to belt fed guns.... A roller lock sear is the only way to go in my opinon if you want full auto.

My situation is very similar. But I did indeed manage to buy an AR-57 upper last year. And I played around with it for about two months before I got bored and started buying more HK stuff.
I don't think there's a cure... only treatment.
I had my weekend all planned out. The weather is nice here and I was planning on a two-day shooting weekend. One outdoors to chronograph a bunch of barrels (MP5 & MP5K & HK94) with different loads, and one inside to try out a new RCM bolt head and a 110 locking piece in my CA89K. But my dealer just called me to let me know that my Black Market Parts order just came in. So I have a brand new CA89K barreled upper to play with. I'm gonna be doing gun stuff all weekend. I'm in heaven.
So yeah, the best way to deal with temptation is to just give in to it. Don't worry about Uzis. Those are for people who can't afford HKs.

Take your wife or GF to the range more. If you want her to get the bug, you've got to expose her to the disease.
I have always enjoyed variety when it comes to shooting guns. I go out and shoot a pistol for a while, set it down and grab my 10/22, maybe a shot gun and a little skeet, sometimes mixed in with a little long range 30 cal action.
I think that mixing it up is a good thing and keeps this sport fresh and exciting.
If you have a couple H&K sears and a few host weapons you should be good for a while. With all the other guns on the market right now it is a great time for gun buyers.

I've got a lot of work lined up here. I ordered this CA89K barreled upper as a backup, so I'm not sure when I'll get it finished and built up into something. But I'll still do a review for my homies.
I'm also getting one of the new G3 buffers from Bill Springfield. I plan to do a review on it as compared to a stock buffer and the HK heavy buffer I got from Adam about a year ago. The plan is to show the modification process difference between the two after-market versions and then shoot all three to determine how well they work.
Houston .... if ya think it will help i will hold one of those damnd HK sears for ya !!!
You know... to keep you from buying Too Many Hosts !!!!!!!!!
Just trying to help :)
Well I am old enough so the HK hosts were were more than the sears, however, I only got a few and have been talked out of one by a friend (he has to have a sear in each of a half dozen hosts ... too much effort to change).
But now that sear HK host prices are over a grand each (like I said been a few years) have gotten a couple clones to play with.
Short question is why a RR Uzi when you can shoot a MP5?

P.S. You need a mm23e with the 21 kit and 1200 meter sight to go along side the Barrett ... also with the mm23e you save on not needing beta mags ;-).
