    LOL, sorry man... sometimes my brain just goes on auto-pilot. You should see the blank stares I get from my wife sometimes.

    A Bridgeport is like a drill-press on steroids and allows you to drill/cut/mill on all three axis plus angles. For the rods, you would secure the receiver upside-down on the table (in a table vice) and use an endmill to pluge out the rods... essentially the same concept as a drill-bit but can cut with its vertical travel.

    On my MKE I found a thin screwdriver and slid between the magwell and the "bar" that is tack welded and with very little leverage and effort the "bars" popped right out. One with no weld slag, the other with just a bump that I filed down. Took maybe 20 minute start to finish. No Dremel or power tools. I am sure this won't work on everyone's MKE but worth a try before marring up the magwell with a slip of a Dremel!
