dev, thanks for the pics -- the rifle looks good! I need to order a rear sight assembly and sight adjustment tool. I like the A2 rear stock too but for the life of me I can't get mine to fit right. I tried my A1 end cap too and that doesn't fit either. Could you please take a pic of the opening of the stock? I want to compare it to the one I have.

The slim forearm and removal of the fake suppressor makes your rifle look like a HK94. I'm not surprised people at the range want to get a closer look. I kind of like the fake suppressor though and I think I will stick with it until I get my rifle SBRd.

Funny you mention that because the range officer that has seen the rifle in it's stock configuration did a second take on it this weekend and asked me what caliber I was shooting. I think he thought it was a different rifle all together.
As far as the sight adjustment tool I used pair of needle nose pliers to make the adjustment. I noticed that the diopters are set for differently then the real MP-5 drum in that they are the same size however are higher in position as you go from 2-4.
I found that if you set the site on number 2 at 25 yards you can use it for 50 yards just fine. I have not shot at 100 yards but I think going to diopter no 3 might do the trick. Since you plan to SBR yours I think the real HK MP-5 drum might be better for you I don't know. I put the rifle away for the evening however I will get that picture for you Tomorrow and BTW I am also from the DC metro area.

Cool. Where do you go shooting? I switch between the NRA Headquarters Range and Silver Eagle Group. I'll keep an eye out for an HK94 clone with a slim forearm next time I am out.

I shoot at the Hap Baker firearms Facility in Carroll county. It is a drive but worth it because it is well maintained and the membership is cheap. For some reason the barrel looks longer then what it looks like in real life.
Were you thinking of getting a trigger job done to yours.

I fondled the Umarex MP5SD at the NRA show this past weekend - great build cosmetics over the GSG5s. If I didn't already have a GSG5, I'd snag an Umarex SD5.

I held the GSG5 when I went to pickup my Umarex and although I don't have any experience with the GSG5 I could tell right away there was a difference. If I had one complaint it would be the finish on the Umarex does not seem all that durable so I plan to have it dura coated when I eventually break it down. I may even try and fit a striped plastic lower and from an older HK MP-5 and call it a day.

Is anyone else having problems with their magainzes? around the 10-15th shot, the round does not feed well into the breech and it catches on the lip.

I just bought one of these today, have to wait 10 days before I can use it though. Any one have a picture with the red dot sights on it?

Just picked mine at the Chantilly show on Saturday and can't wait to get to the range. I've found a few different sources for magazines but have two questions.

    1. Has anyone had any luck with finding an inexpensive scope mount which works. There is the $100 mount from HKparts but I was thinking something like this (https://www.primaryarms.com/Basic_GS..._p/pamdmp5.htm)

    2. Has anyone found a case for the rifle? I need a soft case to lug this thing to the range. All the other MP5\GSG cases I've looked at are a little too short. I believe this rifle measures out to about 27" overall length with the butt-stock collapsed.
