I come from an HK53 where the bolt head is "cocked" that is there is no movement between the carrier, locking piece, and bolt head. Here is my question, on the ca94 carrier, locking piece and bolt head there is some play between the carrier and the bolt head, that is the bolt head can move up and down on the locking piece allowing the rollers to come out. On the HK53 the bolt head is cocked in place and if you move the bolt head back the rollers become locked. Does the CA94 bolt head and carrier combination behave differently. Sorry if I worded this incorrectly.
Yes, there is a difference between the 53/91 type boltheads and carriers and the 94 type -
The rifle carriers have a locking lever under strong spring pressure that must be overcome to push the bolt head back to the carrier. Or actually, pull it away from the carrier. Closing it which forces the roller out is pretty easy. But pulling it back out to retract the rollers takes a lot more force.
The 94 types don't have that spring loaded locking lever, and so they are much easier to lock and unlock. Is that what you meant?
Yes that is exactly what I meant. Thanks for the answer.
