that could happen. and thats a nice scope. you should put some black tape on the scope so it does not scrach it. thats what i would do. unless there is a cover that you can cover the scope with.
Hi guys I have a PTR 91 in the Scout model with welded scope mount rail. I have a Leupold VXIII 3.5-10 x 40 on it with tall mounts. I have not shot it yet and am concerned that with this gun being a semi auto the brass could hit the scope when ejecting. I dont quite know the trajectory. Any help on if this will be a problem or not will be greatly appreciated. Pictures of my setup are below. Thanks a lot!

Yep, that looks like it might be in the danger zone. +1 on a little black tape or something just to be sure. Nice setup, btw!
History is not happenstance, it is conspiratorial: carefully planned and executed by people in power.
You won't have any problems with ejected shells hitting the scope.
See the position the gun is in now? From the right, not actually shooting it. If the ejector is a bit worn, you'll get hit in the eye and pummeled in the face. If the ejector is new, the rounds are going to go more forward and up, over your right shoulder as you're looking at it, with the occasional odd empty cookie cutting 1/4 inch holes on your forehead now and then....
nothing is going to go back or up onto the scope.
I agree with ShatteredMind, you should not have any shells hit the scope. I have a similarly sized scope on my SR9T. Looking from the rear, the shells fly out and forward at about a 45 degree angle from the horizon, and at about 30 - 45 degrees forward from directly right.
Feel free to wrap some electrical tape around it to set you at ease, but I'd be shocked if you saw any marks in it whatsoever.
My PTR throughs brass right 30 feet, up 2 feet and forward 5 feet. That is no where near the scope.
