    Default PTR91 bolt carrier questions...

Are the current PTR91's built with surplus carriers and bolt heads or does PTR make their own?

    Thanks!

Pretty sure they are not US made by PTR. I haven't pulled one apart lately, but my old JLD rifle has German parts.

I doubt it. With all the spare German parts running around all over the place purty dang cheap, it would be an unwise choice to make their own.

My PTR came with a Rheinmetal carrier & a POF bolt, both brand new. They work perfectly & headspace is .018. After 3 years it's still .018. The locking piece was used so I replaced it with one of RTG's new HK ones for $12. Cheap insurance. GARY N4KVE

Same here. Replaced the locking piece and all else is HK.
