    Default Strange Century clone?

Was doing my usual search for HKs and clones on gunbroker and found this thing. I was aware Century had its own G3 clones marked C91 which is separate from their CETME clones. I didn't know that Century imported Portugese G3 clones?

    Any info on this?

Imported as a FMP/INDEP receiver/cocking tube/trunion combo, then completed by Century by installing a barrel , and remaining parts.

Back in the late 1990's/2000's bare Port receivers were available. CAI made some G3 clones back then with them. It would still be determinate on the the parts kit condition and skill of the assembly...lol. Then it is completely over priced, maybe $560 or so? Get a PTR a some other professionally built G3.

Not to be a dousche, but actually the CETME Modelo C (I think its the "C" model) actually came before the HK91. HK just took the design and perfected it!

I wish there was bigger picture for this, but yeah we all know the CETME came before the G3/HK91 but they end up having their differences. The sad part is Century's rather poor quality control of their CETME clones has tarnished the name of the rifle itself. Aside from the MARS CETME being the only true import of a CETME.

Some of those Interport recievers were built up by Special Weapons....I had one. It was pretty nice except for the US cocking tube.

Out of all of Century's clones, these are what I would consider the best of the best (Indep. Portugal). I have two of the type pictured in that link. Both are top notch weapons and they run 100%. Back in the day you could purchase them for $500 a piece. $2200 is serious price gouging IMO. Personally for me, I'd not hesitate to lay down a $1000 for one because I consider the quality of this particular example on par with Vector or JLD, SAR-8. The first of the two I own has well over 10,000 rounds on it now and not a hiccup. Maybe I got lucky, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick this up over my genuine 91. They have a threaded barrel with a pinned on muzzle break. It's fairly easy to remove and install a factory HK flash hider, as I did once:
