    Question Two Questions

    Hi,
I have two questions regarding HK pistols that I can't find the answers to in the owner's manuals.

    1. Is it ok to use +p+ ammo in P7 pistols?

    2. Is it ok to use aluminum case ammo in HK USP and P7 pistols?

Don't know about the P7, but the USP is good to go on the aluminum ammo, shot several cases through mine.

There is no SAAMI specification for +p+ therefore NO firearm is "OK" to use that ammo. Also there is no official +P pressure level, but some makers have OK'ed +p use.

Secondly, the P7 manual specifically warns against using 'sub machine gun ammo", which is what most of the +P+ stuff is.

G3kurz has MANY excelent posts on the P7 and ammo.

The cliff note version is, use standard pressure, 100-130 grain brass cased ammunition, deviate from that at you, and your firearms peril.

    2. Is it ok to use aluminum case ammo in HK USP and P7 pistols
I don't know why it is people buy these nice H&K pistols and then want to feed them crap ammo.

    1. Not recommended. Can cause the extractor assembly to be ripped out and increased fouling of gas piston/cylinder
    2. No aluminum or steel cased ammo recommended due to causing unreliablity of function
