    Default HK 45 Compact Variants

Can I, or a local gunsmith, configure an H&K 45 Compact from variant 1 to variant 4 without the need to send it back to HK?
    Many thanks.

If you have the correct parts. Detent plate # 214254 (same as USP) and V4 control lever # 234412 (currently out of stock)

Many thanks for your response. Do you know the part number for the right side slide release? The diagram in the manual does not show it?
Thanks again for your help and patience with an old lefty.

Well, HK CS1, since I am a lefty, I may have purchased this USP 45 Compact, and can not use it.
I communicated with HK customer service and decided to just send it to them, have it configured to the variant 4.
That way, I will know that it is done right. When I called this morning to get an RMA, the gentleman informed me that the USP 45 Compact does not have a right side slide release lever, like my P2000. Without the right side slide release lever, I don't have a pistol for a lefty. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

The USP Compact 45 is not the same a the HK45 Compact. Your first post was about the HK45C, not the USP, therefore miscommunication occured. The USP does not have a right side slide release and cannot be retrofitted to install one. Variant 4 part # for the USP Compact control lever is different also. The part# is 215872. Detent plate is the same in both models however.

You are absolutely correct. My mistake, and I apologize. I did not do my homework properly. I'll try to sell the USP 45 Compact and find a HK 45 Compact. I really like and have confidence in my .40 P2000. Many thanks for your patience.

So when converting to V3 or V4, the same detend plate (# 214254) will work in both the HK45c and USP/USPc all calibers? Or did I read this wrong?

Thanks for clarifying this for me.
