Default New sights for a P30L?

I think I've finally had enough of the stock glow-in-the-dark (but not for long) sights that came on my P30L. They just plain suck. I don't blame HK; I understand the German restrictions that forbid them form exporting guns with tritium sights... But that being said, the stock sights still suck. ;)

Now all of that being said, it is time to move on and buy a decent set of aftermarket sights. I see Trijicon and Meprolight both have sights available for the P30/P30L. Has anyone here used either? Any preferences to one brand or the other? Is one a better quality sight than the other? Any difference in how long their tritium elements glow for (does one burn out quicker than the other)?

Or, are there any sights (day or night) that anyone would recommend over either of those?

    Thanks guys!

For night sights, I would favor the Meps over the Trijicons. For competition sights, the selection becomes quite narrow. Heinie and Warren would be my choice with preference to Warren. Haven't checked recently to see if Warren is offering his Sevigny sights for the P-30, yet. Let the purpose dictate the sights you use. You really can't go wrong with either Meprolight or Trijicon. I've been using Meps on my pistols, but they came factory equipped.

I too prefer Meps as standard aftermarket night sights, but had anyone found anybody making fiber-optic night sights yet?
I really want some F.O. night sights for my L.

Glocks are like small block chevy's... Over abundant, and rarely impressive.

Thanks for the input guys! Fiber-optice night sights would be the way to go for sure! That is, as long as someone is making them for the P30 platform... Here's hoping.

During a single season, had two sets break (as in front sight sheering off). TruGlo at the time had a 90-day warranty, if I'm not mistaken. Long story short, they wouldn't stand behind their product and I'll never buy nor endorse their product. They simply do not hold up to actual use (i.e. a lot of shooting and presentations from a holster). Excellent idea, but poor implementation IMO. YMMV.

Any thoughts on the Heinie SlantPro QWIK Straight Eight Night? They seem interesting. I like that they're serrated. But I'm not too sure about the two dot system... I think it might take a bit of getting used to.
