Theres the USPc .45 also.. but like others have said i choose the tactical since i already own one.
I just took delivery of an USP .45 fullsize, with two 12 round mags and night sights, (Used) for $540. I was looking at an HK45, at the local gun emporium was priced at $1125 plus tax. Very glad I went with the USP. I have large hands, I shoot a double stack 1911 normally, and the USP just FITS. It seems that there are MANY more USP 45's on the market, and hence, more deals to be had than with the HK45. Having two extra rounds is a big deal to me, but I dont use weapon lights on my pistols. I vote USP all the way.

yesterday i had the chance to handle the USPs and a P30. i came to the conclusion that i don't really like the grip of the USPs, whereas the P30 really felt great! unfortunately, they didn't have HK45, but i assume it feels pretty close to the P30?
if so, the HK45 will be the way to go!
HK 45c, Acquired one this week and love it. You will to, thats the way to go!
There ya go! If you like the P30 grip in your hand, you will almost certainly like the HK45 too.
The HK45c does not have the spidey-grip (finger-grooves) so it feels much different than the fullsize HK45 and the P30. To me, the HK45c is pretty much a P2000 in .45 (except for the C&L ability).
Sounds like the HK45 will be just made-to-order for you. Glad you figured it out before buying. Let us know when you actually get one, and how much you love it. . . ;)
HK is the way!

in that order...
i've been thinking a while now about which trigger variant to get.
what would you guys recommend for SD and some hunting/3 gun shooting maybe?
I've handled both and currently own a Mark23 and I highly disagree that you need huge hands to handle the Mark23; I can reach the trigger just fine and can hold it one or two handed very comfortably. I wear 7 1/2 surgical gloves which isnt that large. The trigger on the Mark23 is also a lot smoother then the tatical although it is a bit heavier of a pull. The Mark23's trigger doesnt have a travel stop like the tatical does though but you dont really need it as there isnt very much travel after you the sear lets go although there is pre-travel just like the tatical does (the only gun I have shot with no pre-travel was a highly modified/custom 1911 a friend let me shoot which I really enjoyed which I believe was more expensive then my Mark23 was... the trigger did feel just about the same though). Just before buying my Mark23, I did get to play with a HK45 and although the handle is smaller, the trigger just wasnt as smooth as the Mark23 and was just not as good as the tatical was. Not many places will let you test fire a Mark23 but as Ferris had once said, "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
