The narrower mounting screw pattern allows this sight to be installed without an adapter.

Yes, it was a browser rendering problem. The CAPTCHA thing showed a blank where it looked like the answer was to be typed, but wasn't and the actual edit field was essentially invisible on my laptop screen. I finally figured it out on another computer where I could see the edit field.

Current: HK45C, P30L, P2000SK, MR223
Past: P2000, P30, P7M13, Expert, G3 (MKE T41)
Plans: USP 9 SD, MR308
Thank you.
The MRDS is longer and taller. The advantage is, I suppose, that the battery compartment is on top and it has the narrower mounting hole centers (same as Deltapoint, FF, Docter). While it has absolutely zero to do with anything really, I just don't care for the aesthetics of the thing all that much.
No, that compensator was on there. I shortened it by milling off the front baffle per the customers wishes.
This is a competition gun for someone that shoots for HK.
USPSA Open or Steel Challenge came to my mind instantly - lack of back up irons was give away ;)
Actually I still do consider building Open gun out of USP SD9 with slide mounted RDS. Second idea is to have carry P2000SK with slide mounted RDS as well plus some sort of comp added - P2000SK has lot of unburnt powder to spare.
