However, for the turn around and price, and looking at what "specs" Bruce Gray lists, I think I might just send off my P2000 to Springfield within the next couple weeks! My new Mauser HSc should be coming in next week, which should keep me busy till the P2000 comes back.

For the trigger job,Springfields' website lists that you only need to send the frame. Will I have to ship my frame through an FFL or is it cool to send myself? I don't know which component is regulated on a handgun, sort of like the upper vs. lower receiver on an AR-15......

Good point....if the frame is NOT registered, then you can ship USPS with Dev Conf...otherwise you'll have to ship FedEx Next Day Air. I don't think USPS nor UPS will take firearm shipments from individuals...only FedEx is my understanding.

As far as service goes, it cant be beat. I shipped my P30 to him last thursday for the trigger job and heinie night sights install. I just checked my mail and its here! 1 week turnaround is amazing. I just did some dry firing and i can tell the difference in trigger pull, very nice. I'm going to take it to the range tomorrow to see how it shoots and if there is any difference in the reset. I can tell he had a hard time putting in the heinie sights as they are cut up a bit...from what I've read they are a piece of $%*^ to install. On mailing, i just sent the upper and lower minus the barrel. You don't need to ship through an ffl if your just sending parts. Just give him a call and he can walk you through it, that's what i did.

If you did not ship the barrel, how was he able to align and/or adjust the sights?

I am a FFL holder so frames etc can be sent direct without anything special needed on your end. I set installed sights to factory center.
Too many things can affect point of aim, the pistol itself, ammo and shooting style. I can be reached at wspringfield@comcast.net.

    Thanks,

Thanks Bill. I had sent you a question but I thought it was an AOL account. I'll send over now, looking forward to it. :)
