    Thank you my friend. :)

I made sure i elicited a top gunsmith to do the work. This man has built some beautiful custom guns over the years, i've known him for decades, i had complete faith in his ability to do A1 quality work.

He did not disappoint, and honestly the price was really good for the rail install. It was only a mere $230 including the rail. The custom FFII sight cost me $60 because i know the master machinist that made it really well. The Tritium sights cost me about $100 including shipping because an awesome member of this forum hooked me up big time. The Nills were $140. The Viridian $270.

I paid $550 for the Pistol with 3 mags originally.

    $1350 and counting. o.O

    To do list:

    Get barrel threaded
    Vortex Flash hider
Ford's two tone hard chrome refinish
    Custom built extended mag

    Just because.

    Val,
I think you should buy a 2nd B or C grade P7 to HC, and not change the looks of yours so drastically. Your finish is original and in great condition, so why HC? I prefer a dark finish on a tactical weapon unless the weapon is being used in a harsh environment or the user prespires a lot while carrying.

This is my C grade from HK Specialists, and yes, this is my primary carry gun. I could carry my A grade just the same, but I'd rather not risk buggering it up. I regret selling the C grade in my avatar to fund my A grade, but I guess that sometimes we have to make concessions. As a rule one should never sell one's HKs; you will undoubtedly regret it later.

The finish on mine isn't actually all that nice, it just purties up real good in pictures.

I want to get the pistol all black chromed (or perhaps even black nickel), with all the accents (trigger, take down, slide release, grip screws and magazines) high polished hard chrome. I'm also getting the nills stripped and re-polished, then finished over with a top end polyurethane treatment.

It's a nightstand gun, so it doesn't have to be the most durable or plain looking finish like many say a carry gun should be. Once refinished, i won't carry it ever again. (I have plans for a Kahr PM9 w/CT laserguard in the future for a full power carry pistol)

I want it to be a near religious experience when I gaze upon my P7's shimmering beauty, laying there in bed at night. Such pleasant dreams.... ;)

My love for my P7 is irrational beyond it's tremendous merits as an actual weapon.

My EDC gun is a beat to crap blued finish Ruger LCP with a CT laserguard. Once i get the Kahr PM9, the Ruger is getting a $140 treatment that entails getting the rear sight notched out properly, a front sight tritium dot installed, and a duracoat slide refinish.

I don't just buy guns, every one of them has to have a specific role for me. The P7's role as bed stand gun (stored in a bolted down locked quick access gun safe) allows for a beautiful finish, so that's exactly what it's going to get. :D

    Aforementioned beat to crap LCP:

Gets the job done, and it's small enough to take anywhere, no matter what i'm wearing.

    I love the little thing.

I have been carrying a P7M8 on and off for about 10 years. I have also carried a Glock 26, SIG P 230, and a 1911, but always came back to my P7M8. Currently I carry my M8 in a Milt Sparks VMII unless I am carrying my new P30.

I had my magazine, a different one, jam in my P7 again today. If this is an operational idiosyncrasy, so be it, but I never read that OT was a wide-spread condition. Rapping it sharply with the heel of my hand made it free up like it was normal. I still carry it, but it makes me wonder.

It's your specific pistol. Mine has never done that in 2 years + of ownership.
