Right? It just goes to show that someone always has it worse than you do.

The hammer and trigger to NOT remain in the reset position unless you hold the trigger back. Release the trigger and it goes all the way forward, lets the hammer down, and sets all the internal safeties.

The cocking piece, what Para Ordnance calls the "inner hammer" in their similar LDA design, is cocked every time the slide cycles.

Thanks everyone for enlightening me also. I've been lurking on the sidelines trying to understand how LEM works.
I ordered a 45c with Light LEM and am anxious for it to get to me so I can put what I've learned on this thread to practice.

Congratulations on your decision. I have no doubt that you will be very happy with your purchase once you get a chance to put some rounds down range. The light LEM is definitely the way to go, as far as I'm concerned!

    in practise.

rack the slide and chamber a round. pull the trigger to fire. thats it. I will probably get flamed for saying this but its as simple as a Glock or XD trigger system just different mechanically ( hammer vs. striker fired)

My HK45C and S&W M&P9 have nearly identical trigger pulls, weights, and resets. Vastly different mechanically, of course.
