Both of my P2000 9mm pistols do this. On the fired case there is a ring around the case almost as if there's a line in the chamber. The ring goes around the circumference of the case about a third the back from the case mouth. Has anyone else noticed this?
That's normal. if you look in the chamber, you will see the feature that formed this ring. It's supposed to improve the gas seal and thus increase velocity. I'm not an expert but remember reading this somewhere.
That's interesting and seems to confirm why it's in two different pistols. I've looked into the chamber and sometimes I think I can see the line, other times not. Can't see as good as I used to.
I had noticed the ring but figured it had something to do with crimping on the bullet.
