    I'm curious as to what could be so different about HD as opposed to CC that you feel the need for a different gun. You're willing to carry a subcompact with the possibility of using it across a parking lot, across the street, down the block, etc. How big of a house do you have that you think a larger frame, slide, or longer sight radius might be necessary? Personally, I'd be looking for something bigger for away from the home, and use the shorty at home where you're looking at shorter ranged engagements.

    A better option, since the primary advantage of home defense is that it doesn't have to be attached to your hip, is a long gun. I prefer something in a short barreled 12ga, myself.

    Border cop is pretty deep, I have both for hd and putting holes in paper , like the .45c better , I got rid of the p2000sk to get the .45c , this probably won't help

    Concur with this statement 110%. I understand that 45 ACP ammo is expensive and if that is a major factor in your choice then maybe the P30 would be your best option.

    I have both(as do many others here) but if I could only have a 45c or P30(9mm) I'd pick the P30. I was actually looking to trade my 45c... But I just came in to about 1000 rds of 45 ammo for free from a friend at work that got rid of all of his 45's... So I'll be keeping the 45c for a bit longer it seems.

    The P30 is just an incredible shooter for me... I LOVE it!

    I love my HK45c but down the road I would like to procure an HK P30 but can't do to lack of "FUNDING".

    I was asked recently, if I could only have one HK pistol, which of the three would I keep (I have a P30/9, P2000SK/9, and HK45C).

    If it was only one, it'd be the HK45C. Small enough for carry, big enough for HD.

    Now if I could only keep two, I'd have to say the combination of the P30 for HD, the SK for CCW is hard to beat. The P30s ergos are amazing.

    I've carried both my SK and HK45C lately, and while they are close in size, the SK conceals easier and carries more comfortably for me, but part of this maybe that I've been shifting my carry forward, closer to AIWB from 3-3:30.

    My solution is to keep all three of them.

    And for the record, my HK45C came first, the P30 & SK came the same day.
