At least when I got out in September, shirt stays were still mandatory for the appropriate uniform and I don't think I ever met anyone who thought they shouldn't be. Shirt-tucks and thumbrolls were still muscle-memory habits of any time you stood up or otherwise were idling. Looking good in uniform was still a big part of the day.....there were mirrors next to a lot of exits in buildings so you could give yourself a once over before stepping outside, boot brushes at every entrance so you don't track mud inside, ect.

Since then I think I heard something about sleeve-rolls no longer being practiced.

OP: I'm in south Georgia and the heat and humidity is brutal. I wear t-shirts every day. The UnderArmour does a great job, and Wal-mart has one made by Starter that is nearly as good for about a third of the cost of the Underarmour. Being armed and a little uncomfortable beats being comfortable and unarmed.

I carry a P30 in a crossbreed super tuck with no undershirt ever. And I don't seem to have a problem with it bothering me at all. Guess everybody is different.

Here's 2 links on the forum that will be useful to you. It is really a simple fix and your P30 will be very comfortable for conceal carry. I used the methods described in the first link and the handgrip looks the same as stock and the handgrip feeling like it is scratching my skin in a non-issue now. It doesn't take much to sand down the handgrip, just enough to take off the rough edges and the tire black has never discolored my clothes or my hand and I have not had to treat the sanded area again. I lightly sanded down all areas on the handgrip that touched my skin and it is not noticable that I have done anything.

P30+ MTAC daily and I really only wear undershirts in the cooler months, sometimes...had the skin irritation for about a week, and then all was well. I figure I'm wearing a gun so I don't mind feeling it...that said, for many, "comfortable carrying" translates into their comfort with carrying, i.e. if you're adjusting and scratching every second you get, then effective concealment of the weapon is questionable unless you're doing it only in places and at times where no one can see you. Undershirt/no undershirt, it's all about personal preference, what makes you comfortable, and what works for you...but still, my experience with the irritation was only short-lived and I carry IWB 3-330. Love my P30 as a CCW pistol.

Carry in back. IWB for me and I am carrying my P30L with a Veridian X5L all day every day with no issues regardless of whether I have an undershirt.
