Besides myself I have yet to see anyone in person shoot the thing correctly. Support hand wrist extended/index finger not around the front of the trigger guard and slapping the trigger like a joystick button. I don't have a lot of rounds through a Mk maybe 200 or so but I completely agree that it's a Niche weapon and it has a specific purpose if not just for fun.

There is more flip to it and like I said there are other .45's on the market that you can shoot faster but for it's purpose it's outstanding.

I would have bought one already but I just want so many other Hk's first.

I owned one for a while. Badass piece of hardware, but, its been stated in here before, its not practical.

I traded it off for a Springfield Operator with full-length rail, that had some stuff done to it. It just fit me better at the time.

Now, I regret letting it go as I sold the Operator to my brother. So I'm eyeing the MK23 again.

    TONS, of positives otherwise.

I look at it like this, if you want a gun that will survive World War 3, the MK23 is the one for you!

    1. Can be used as boat anchor.
    2. When the polar shift occurs and we lose our gravitational pull, this gun will securely anchor you to the the earth.

There is no practicality in having one, they are just cool and badass to have. It is on my"to get"list, I just need to save some bank.

I bought one when I had some extra money laying around. It's my favorite gun.

Remarkable firearm. Not the easiest to lug around, but ask to shoot my buddies everytime he brings it out to play!!

Gentlemen, the only comment I could make on the subject would be "If you want a FULL size .45 for your End O Days gun... this is the one.
Just read up on the tests that SOCOM put it through in 1994. Only firearm submitted to pass the first stage (submersion in sea water for 7 days) etc.
There's a reason their logo is what it is - "No Compromise"

    It all depends...

This is identical of me posting a thread on a chevrolet forum saying "is the Corvette Z06 practical?"

for an average person, the corvette isn't too practical. there is no space to put any groceries, there is no spare, only 1 additional passenger, they are loud inside, they are very low and scrape most things, not too great on mileage on local roads, expensive and made of plastic.

But you are forgetting it wasn't meant to be a practical car. If you are really interested in a Corvette Z06, you probably have your own intentions of using it :)

and this is why I own my Z06. I never bought it for practicality. I have a very nice and very practical '11 Maxima that is the perfect sporty family car. The Z06 is my fun car with a purpose (purpose to track it, or enjoy it on weekends).

I would say my Mk23 is on the same scale with my Z06 but different intended uses :)

you can compare my M&P9c to my Maxima. very practical, and that's it.
