    Does shooting the P7 till it gets hot contribute to the plum color or is an age thing?

    I think the plum color is more of a metal hardening vs the chemicals used to blue the metal. Sort of likea patina I guess. I find it pleasing. Man this thing ejects casing into the neighboring county. You can take out your target and maybea guy about 14 feet to your right at the same time... :)

    Ours has just a hit of plum color and it has not been shot much, maybe 50 rounds. I was wandering if it will plum more over time, that's all.

    If the metal treatment is anything like anodizing, it may be ultraviolet light that discolors it. Some anodizes are very sensitive to UV, even the small amount emitted by flourescent light tubes.
