You know I love my HK45 & P30S (9mm v3) but my daily carry is a USP-C in .357sig. The USP-C does not have the sweet ergo's or ambi controls like the other two (I put the ambi safety kit on the HK45) but it is a still a great pistol for my needs. I never cared for the P2K/SK as they just don't fit my needs or hand in the case of the SK. They are all very fine pistols and I don't think we will see any of them go away anytime soon.

The USP is here to stay for the forseeable future...
    THIS

and perhaps you should check the Pistol section on the German website of H&K
The fact that the HK45 isn't displayed has more to do with the fact that it's made in the US, but the absence of the P2000 kinda speaks for itself.

Both states hate what I love.......Guns, Cars, and freedom. It is a real shame. Plus NY is right up CA's ass for some reason.

    Oh well.

As for the USP series, I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Especially because the USP 45 is so popular.
Same boat as you navyman. NY sucks, even for LE. I can't wait to escape and hopefully my wish comes true very soon.

I think as the hk45 continues to get good press and more sales, it's only natural for the usp the be phased out. Unless they can get the usp to the 500-600$ range. Then it could be the intro 45, and still be different enough than the hk45

Sorry, but I highly doubt that HK is keeping the USP around for the state of California. That was amusing; however. HK, as many of us already know, focuses their attention on the .mil and LE sales and potential for future contract(s). The civilian market is second on their radar and yes, by the matter of virtue, the US has the largest civilian market. Being as backwards and liberal as California is, I highly doubt the market is that large compared to the likes of the free states. As a matter of fact, a few gutsy manufacturers have abandoned sales all together to the state of California to includes LE sales.

As long as "we" continue to buy the USP, HK will continue to manufacture them. I've picked up two USPs this year, myself (Expert 9 and USP 45).

    ^^^Gospel^^^

Why do some think the USP is obsolete and outdated to the point that HK will stop producing them? You guys do understand other than the aesthetics and ergo's, internally the modern HK's are exactly identical with only a swap in RSA's. I'm not being a HK fanboy when I say this but the USP is the foundation on which all other polymers should pay homage too, some might argue and say Glock but in the first two Glock generations they didn't have the foresight to add a accesory rail to their pistol, and you don't just throw away what is the considered the cornerstone of polymer guns...

Like Gt says, "HK focuses their attention on military and L.E. sales", we all know this so with that being said I'd think it would be very stupid for HK to stop making the USP. Reason being, the P-Series (while still being awesome) are still considered service pistols not a pure combat battle firearm and HK has made no strides (YET) to make the P-Series as military capable as the USP line, which means if they discontinued the USP the only pure combat gun they would have is the HK45/.45c and with the JCP scrapped and NATO sticking with 9mm I think they would lose a niche in the L.E. world with tactical operators. As outdated as some think the USP is, still remember this... The USP is still a more versatile pistol than the P2k,P2ksk,P30(L), I'm not taking anything away from the awesome P-Series line but I'm just stating a fact.

There seems to be a lot of speculation flying around this thread. Does anyone have any proof of either the P2000 or USP series being discontinued?

And FWIW, the P2000 not being included in the German website has been brought up before on this forum. Here is an interesting thread, including information regarding the future of the P2000... HK German site has been updated

Keep speculating but only HK's management decides the future of the USP. I hope they stick around though. USP is one the best model IMO.

BTW, I am from CA and a proud owner of four HKs.
