    Default "H&K Guns are Unreliable....."

..... Says a guy working at a Shooting Range near me.

I went there to shoot off a box or two of .45 to break in my USP 45. They had an H&K sticker prominently on their front window, but they didn't have any H&K's in their rental selection. I asked them why they didn't have any, and the guy working there exclaimed, "they all broke. They're unreliable, they just don't hold up after tens of thousands of rounds, you want reliable, get a 1911."

    Um. Kay.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed beginning the break in on my brand new "unreliable" USP 45.

Maybe he's frustrated by the online ordering system. Quick fix, next time you stop by, bring him a new mousepad.

I have basically lost all interest in talking with folks at gun shops or shows anymore. More likely than not...I would just come away from the conversation frustrated by the onslaught of stupidity.

Enjoy that USP 45 btw! I've had mine since 1998 I believe. 15 years, thousands of rounds...and I honestly can't remember if I've ever had a malfunction with the pistol...and haven't had to replace a single part...not even a spring. I'm still running the two original mags that came with it as well.

Hmm, I must be lucky, my lgs has never really talked trash on the HK name, to my face anyways. One of the salesmen did call my HK45c a USP compact, poor ignorant guy....

The owner at the range I go to Loves HKs... just can't get them in right now, with all the Craziness! They got about 2-3 of them for rentals and that's about it. Said to me in a conversation that he doesn't even remember the last time they were cleaned. But if he had to guess they were in the neighbor of 3-4 thousand rounds per!

I had a guy that has never shot an HK tell me that they suck... That was before he shot my Custom Comp with a the LEM/Match hybrid trigger. He shot about 2 mags before he realized how awesome it was and he's bought 3 HK's since.

Just to let you know if you hadn't already that the USP platform is the most widely tested.

Yeah, the torture tests like the sub-zero temp freezing one is just crazy.

Love my USP 45. I've rented them many times before at other ranges. Finally bought one. Maybe after the ammo crisis madness is over, I might end up getting a P2000SK, I really liked I checked out at my LGS when I was picking up my USP 45.
