Default New additions to the HK pistol line up

Spoke with our HK rep at the LGS today and he passed on some interesting information. He related that HK would be introducing 3 new guns next year. Information on one can be found here...

More on a Domestic US HK G36

    The other two are,

    1. The P30X. A striker fired variant of the P30
    2. The P30SK. A subcompact variant of the P30 (not sure if hammer or striker fired), without the aggressive grip on the P30, more akin to the P2000, HK45C grip.

    So, there ya go....

Also, we grilled the poor guy for awhile about bringing back the P7 series, even tossing out the idea of an "HK Pro-Shop" boutique to build it...and it is just not in the cards...

I guess I do not understand the call for a P30SK since there is a P2000SK. I am ignorant to the workings of the P30. Are they that much different from a p2000 to warrant a different pistol? A striker fired P30 intrigues me however.

I don't know what all the discussions were at the HK head shed, but our local rep said that the p2000 line up makes up the least percentage of sales out of any of the HK pistols. Eclipsed by all variants of the USP and P30. I'm not saying that it will go bye-bye soon, but I think if they do decide to consolidate their offerings they probably won't discontinue the USP line or the P30 line. This is of course all wild and rampant speculation on my part. All I know is what the man told me as related in the O.P.

I seriously had to stop buying the P30 variants. After 3 I'm going broke.

I'm probably overlooking something very obvious, but that doesn't sound all that different from what the P2000sk already is. Still intriguing none the less.

    Oh, I almost forgot-

I also asked about a P30T (tactical). It IS in the works. It IS coming eventually. It IS NOT expected next year. Typical Tacticool stuff on it when it does show up, threaded barrel, tall night sights, the admiration of your peers, the usual.

Also asked about match triggers for the P30 series and....take a deep breath...hold it...hold it....hold it....

ok now let it out because it'll be taking a back seat to the strikers.

I hope they don't discontinue the USP. It's my favorite HK.
