    Default Handgun Dimensions

I wanted to compare some dimensions and HK's site didn't give me enough options. Maybe somebody has done this before but I didn't see it. I was surprised at how compact (comparatively) the USP Compact is and how the Mark 23, though big, is not as huge as some folks believe. Hope it's useful.

Just ran out of time. I may try to add in some more and repost.

There are some discrepancies between your chart and what I found in various Operator's Manuals. Where did you get these measurements from?
HK: No, that does not mean Hong Kong

Most came from the HK-USA.com website; a few - like the ones for the Expert - are from the international website and had to be converted from metric. There are also subtleties like whether "w/lever" really included levers on both sides and whether the weight included an empty magazine or not, which often was just not clear. (And all that presupposes that I copied correctly.) Be glad to have corrections and I'll repost.

Pending TooSixy correcting my numbers here's chart with P-series and VP-series thrown in. I did not find an official posting of the P30SK sight radius so I left it blank (but assume it's about the same as the P2000SK). I bracketed the HKs with a typical 1911 and an M&P 45 compact for comparison (just because I happen to own those).

Dimensions are interesting but I'm struck by how different handling characteristics are in guns that are so close in specs. Example: the USPc45 "ought to" feel about the same as the HK45c or the M&P45c but it doesn't. Grip, weight distribution, recoil -- all different.

Sight radius for P30SK is 5.35".

    Weight for P30 9/40 is 26.08 oz
    Overall Length for P30 9/40 is 6.99"

    P2000 .40
    Overall Length = 6.81"
    Overall Height (w/ mag inserted) = 5.43"
    Sight Radius = 5.59"
    Weight w/out mag = 24 oz

    P2000 9mm
Other measurements are same as .40
    Weight w/out mag = 22 oz

    P2000SK .40
    Overall length = 6.81"
    Overall height (w/ mag inserted) = 5.43"
    Overall width = 1.34"
    Weight (w/ mag) = 25.8 oz -- w/out mag = 23.15 oz
    Sight Radius = 5.59"
    Barrel Length = 3.66"

    P2000SK 9mm
    Weight (w/ mag) = 23.8 oz -- w/out mag = 21.15 oz

We need data for P30L 9/m as well :)
    Overall Length = 7.56"
    Barrel Length = 4.45"
    Sight Radius = 6.42"
    Overall Height = 5.43"
    Overall Width = 1.37"
    Weight w mag = 27.52 oz -- w/out mag = 24.24 oz

Measurements for Expert, Tactical, Elite, Match, Compacts and P7s (why not? LOL) are attached.

With TooSixy's corrections and the addition of P30L, the spread is attached.

The one correction I did not make was for the length and height for P2000SK. Pete, you've got those as the same as the regular P2000, so something's off somewhere. BTW, one of the anomalies in HK's data on its site is the overall width distinction between the P2000SK in .40 and 9mm, which they have listed as 1.27 and 1.37. That did not make sense when I put them in originally, but I haven't handled both guns, so had no first hand knowledge.

I tried to upload the Excel file, so if anybody wants to add, subtract, do percentage differences, or whatever, they could. But the site won't take the Excel file. If you want it, PM me and I'll send it.
