Does nobody no for sure? I searched but the info was very conflicting.
Will this ammo work in the HK USP? If so what are the pros and cons besides higher velocity and more recoil? Any guns damage possible?

HK USP 45
Does nobody no for sure? I searched but the info was very conflicting.
I know for sure it can be done in a Mark 23 but I'm not 100% on USPs. I've seen a few people claim here and on other sites that USPs are GTG with .45 Super but I've never done it.
YES!
The USP 45 can fire 45 Super all day long. . . no problem! So can the USP Tactical 45, and the Mark 23. Even the USP Compact 45 and the USP Compact Tactical 45 can fire 45 Super, but with their lesser mass of slides, they will start battering themselves with anything more than occasional, limited use.
HK is the way!
HK45 handles it very well also. Seems to have slightly less recoil than my USP with this hot round. Very controllable.
Thanks for the answers. For 40 plus per box I won't be shooting it that much.Only for special situations.
I know it beem discussed before but allowing for wear and tear on the gun, will a factory setup gun be safe with this round.I am talking shooting a full factory Hi cap mag empty. It would only be shot in a life or death emergency. And yes I know there are better choices for bigger calibers but my question is for the USP 45 Full Size gun.
1 Magazine emptied as fast as possible. 13 rounds would put a hurt on the target if the gun can handle it.
Has anyone used the 45 Super more than casually in their HK?
Has nobody used 45 Super in the USP or HK45?
It's not a good idea and it is not needed. If you cannot get the job done on any human with the standard .45 ACP or with even the .45 +P, then you have serious troubles that more power is not going to help. A low powered bullet in the right place trumps a high powered bullet in the wall, the toe, or the gun busting loose in your hand. The USP is rated for +P ammo, it is not rated for the Super. Some have done it but I still do not think it is prudent.

I agree that it's not needed and I definitely wouldn't use it in my guns but.....
Greg Bell shot 25 rounds of .45 Super through his HK45. At the time it had about 1,700 rounds through it. He now has over 8,000 rounds through the gun and it's running like a champ. So to answer your question, I think the USP45F will definitely be able to handle a full mag of .45 Super. But in a self defense situation, I think +P would be plenty good enough.
Here's a quote from Greg's blog.
Today I shot only 25 rounds of .45 super (BIG THANKS TO NOJOY FOR SENDING IT TO ME!!). 5 rounds were Triton HP and 20 were 230 grain buffalo bore. I had three buddies with me and everybody enjoyed shooting it. Muzzle flip was powerful, but not “snappy.” The push was way more than .40, but strangely not violent. Everyone agreed that it wasn’t the instant flinch inducer that, say, a full house .357 Scandium revolver is. It is just a big old BOOOOM!!!
