I have a Glock 32, that's a .357 Sig gun. I bought a .40 S&W barrel for it. I can easily switch calibers. What I found is the recoil is very similar between the two.
I'm not all that recoil sensitive but I have a 357 revolver (18 oz) and find that magnum loads have a rather unpleasurable bight to them. I have no problem with my 24 oz 40 USPc or the 25 oz 45. I'm considering a 357sig barrel for the HK but don't want to end up with something that I don't enjoy shooting.
Are there any opinions here on whether the USPc is maybe too light weight to enjoy in 357sig?
Thanks in advance.

I have a USP-C .357sig and I personally don't think it's any different than the .40 Compact I used to have. The only thing I think is greater, is the noise level! Fun gun, love it and swear by it!
I love my .357 Compact! It is a great round, but as stated above it does bring on the noise. It has command presence and will get people at the range to look over at you to see what is making the noise!
I bought a Jarvis .40 barrel for it and found both calibers are a joy to shoot. I will say the .357 is a little snappier but not to the point that I would choose the .40 barrel over the .357. You would not be disappointed if you run a .357!
As far as recoil compared to a .357 Magnum, it is not even close. Quite manageable actually. I have a 12 ounce .357 Mag scandium J frame and love the thing, as a carry piece, but it is not a target gun! I am not recoil shy but have to say after about a box it is time to stop shooting!! Ok maybe a half a box!

Better to have it and not need it..........even better to have them all!!!!!!
I like the .357 compact enough to own 3 of them. I also have a compact .40,
and I believe the .357 is actualy a softer shooter.
As USMC stated, the first round down range will get you some WTH?! looks. While it's not quiet, the accuracy and fun factor is quite high.
Highly recommended!

You're a better man than me.

You're still a better man than me.
Those light weights are great for carrying and in an emergency who's going to notice the recoil. But for fun my K-frame just doesn't fit the bill in 357mag.
Thanks everyone for all the info. Think I'll order that barrel now.
It has a little more snap and flip than my .40 Full size but that is to be
expected. Very fun to shoot, but rounds can get a lil pricey.

In my opinion, .357 SIG is a great round for LE work, defense, and recreation. It's a blast to shoot and there are some really hot loads out there. I find the recoil to be very easy to tame. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's a little more straight back into the hand with less muzzle flip than the .40S&W. I've been carrying a Sig P229R in .357 SIG as my duty weapon for some time now and will be switching to a S&W M&P .357 SIG soon if that's any indication of how I feel about the cartridge. ;)

Thanks for posting that picture comparison with the 340. It's good to have for future reference, like if I end up wanting a pocket piece. My 386 is about 2" longer and 1/2" taller than the USPc. Appreciate your input.

Why the switch from 229 to M&P? Any problems with the 229?
