Uuuggh...I wish you hadn't told me that. I hated paying the $39 for it, but I was dying to have one and I couldn't find one anywhere else.

I used a .243 brush for a while...but I just needed the HK scraper to feel "authentic"... :-)

I've been down that road too many times....

How much carbon comes out typically? I clean mine after every outing, usually about 200 rounds worth. When I use the scraper I get about a speck of carbon out.

When I use the brush, after 200rds, a lot of crap comes out - more than I would expect anyway. Thats what made me decide I need the scraper.

Also the "piston" that goes into the gas tube gets pretty fouled up with thick and hard to scrape off lead fouling.
