Cope's Distributing has dropped their price on the G3 .22 kit to $499.99, so I added theirs to the list.

Thanks Andrew. I will let everyone know what I receive, if I receive anything at all. Let's hope HK has the sight in stock and it is shipped out quickly. Stay tuned.

My order status, for the 1200 meter sight from Midway, has been updated with an expected date of 5/13/2010. So far, it appears my credit card has not been charged either. This is nice as I had expected my card to be charged the night I placed my order. I have noticed that many places charge your card up front for backorder items but Midway seems to be different. If the expected date holds true, it seems we have a while to wait for closure on this matter. Let's hope the date is a formality.

Any updates on this as far as what gen. sight it is?

Not that I've heard. If you're interested, call HK directly and see if you can confirm what the commercial sales rep told me - that the older sights are no longer made and if an order is placed you will receive the latest version. The only question is, was the sales rep I spoke with correct or only assuming. I've been meaning to call back and confirm, so let us know what you find out.

DS Arms Inc, has their steel bipods back in stock. Unfortunately, they raised the price from $50 to $78.



HK91/93/33 Steel Bipod. Exact Duplicate of Original Factory Bipod, Steel Feet The bipod is an exact duplication of the original factory bipod. The bipod attaches to the rifle via the wide forend attachment mount (not included). Constructed of black oxide high carbon steel.

Did anyone buy one of these? If so, who was the manufacturer and how does it compare to an HK brand?

You're right the descriptions are similar, and if you check the part number it is in fact the same as on the DS Arms image, "PM083." I have one older Promag that has plastic feet, but maybe they have upgraded it over the years, including steel feet. It would be good to know just how much of a "duplicate" this is.

I've removed it from the list, since I found the same steel Promag part PM083 for cheaper at Graf & Sons. Thanks for input!

Gordon Miller confirmed that HK still stocks the gen 2 version of the 1200 meter rear sight. He should know as he is one of the nation's largest HK parts dealers. I trust what Gordon Miller is telling us. He has no reason to look out for Midway nor would he stand in anybody's way of snagging a good deal. It may be true that HK is not manufacturing the gen 2 sight any longer but they apparently do still have a number of them in stock. Based on that information I canceled my order and moved on with life as I want the 4th gen sight like everybody else. Like the saying goes..."if it is too good to be true...".
