It's date stamped KA, I didn't realize they were still being made/imported that late.
Good eye. Main production ended around 1985 but HK continued assembling individual pistols into the '90s using leftover parts. You can find some real oddities with date codes that start with K. This is one of those special pistols likely assembled for a special customer in Germany long after production ceased.

That 45ACP Sport III package is from Bo French's Red room collection: https://www.flickr.com/photos/119587955@N07/12997083244/in/album-72157641959229764/

I was offered the 9mm & 45ACP packages last week, but opted to only buy Bo's 9MM Sport III package. This package came with no import marks of any kind. https://www.flickr.com/photos/119587955@N07/12997080814/in/album-72157641959229764/

Having non-buyers remorse on the 45ACP package, I put a "low" bid of $5k to get the auction moving. I have a good idea to the reserve on GB, but I'm on the fence to keep bidding. Someone PLEASE buy it so I don't!

Drunk bidding?

You could buy that setup 5 times over in Germany for that money. Heck, you could pay for all the import/export, fly over and pick them up yourself, drink all the German beer you like and still have money left over.

Congrats to the seller!

Don't misunderstand me, I'm very happy to see that the seller got a gun he obviously really wanted. I, like others in this thread, was simply amazed at the final price it went for being import marked.

I wouldn't call it one of the rarest P9S packages out there; there were a lot of SG3s produced. The dual-caliber 9mm/.45 SG comes to mind as one of the rarest.

In the end they ain't exactly making any more of 'em, that's for sure! Congrats to both parties!
