    Default G36K flash hider length.

Does anyone know the OAL of the G36K flash hider, and more importantly, how much length it adds to the barrel?

i believe it is about 2 inches or less. i know ed at hdps threw one on a 14.5" barrel to make it a legal 16".

more importantly do you have a olds 442.......because i am looking into getting one. i have an 84 cutlass right now and thinking of going older.

    how do you like it?

I have a 1985 442 that's getting ready for restoration this week! I'm excited if you can't tell. I've been around Oldsmobiles my whole life and love them.

I was figuring/hoping the G36K flash hider was a bit longer. It looks like an extended Vortex and I was wondering if you could get away with it on a 13.7" barrel. I'm either going to use a 13.7" with a G36K flash hider (if legal) or a 12.5" with a modified M60 flash hider.

just buy a 4" one from hkparts.net! you might need to buy a k barrel and get it permanetly attached.

hahaha thats awesome. i was looking into the 70's ones since i already have me an 84.

i love oldsmobiles. mine is the 3rd in the family. my parents bought me the one i have for a bday gift. boy did it need some work! haha but it is golden!

Ah, I didn't know they made extended ones. That seals it for me! Thanks man. Oh, and I know I'll get flack, but it's going to go on an AR. I'll be turning down an AR barrel in length so the thread rate doesn't present a problem either.

Good luck in finding a 442. I'd like to own a 71' W-30 that's black with white stripes, has a four speed, and a black interior. Mmmmm. Thanks again. Keep the 84 by the way. You can never have too many Oldsmobiles.

The K flash hider I have is 2 7/8 inches.
How much it actually adds to the barrel length i dont know, as I havent had my barrel threaded yet. From looking inside the hider at the threads I would guess about 2 inches, if it is more than that its not very much more.
Not sure if I will go with this hider or just get it threaded standard AR15 so I can swap a threaded suppressor.

The flash hider will recess back about .0900-1.00" on the barrel. The overall length of the flash hider will be roughly 1 7/8"-2" long.

    Thumbs up

The flash hider is 2 7/8 long the barrel is 12 9/16 long and when on the barrel 14 5/8 OAL. If you need it over 16in you need the 4.6in flash hider Adam has the 4.1in is to short.
