Default What is the most rifle for the buck given the inflated market?

So given the current inflated market and assuming that there will be a slight reprieve before the nazis completely gut the 2nd amendment, balanced against approaching hyper-inflation, what semi auto is the best bang for the buck (new, old or clone production)? Or in other words, on what rifle should a "value" purchaser have his eye trained on at the moment?

I have found myself wondering the same thing. The PTR-91 sounds like a good value compared to some of the other similar weapons.

I still think a HK91 is one of the best values, it cost more but should hold its resell value forever. A few have sold here recently that I would have probably bought if I were in the market.

How about the Mini 14, for the money you cant beat that...

I would say any of the following are great values at the prices listed. I know not all are HKs.

    1.) SL8 - $1800 or <
    2.) SAR-8 - $1500 or < (Greek made only)
3.) SKS - Reliable, acurate, cheap to shoot relatively speaking. $250 or <
4.) Certain ARs specifically Bushys, seen many around $1k or < that looked like good deals.
5.) SIG 556 looks like a good value to me as well under $1500

I know when it is time to march my local militia has standardized on ARs for mag compatibility and parts. I recommend everyones first rifle, after a Ruger 10/22, be a AR platform. I have 2 standards(.223) and 2 variants (10mm & .22) in my arsenal.

6.) 93s can be found around the $2500 range. I have been looking for the right one myself.

It is my feeling the orginal preban stuff will appreciate faster than newer stuff but that is just a gut feeling or a hunch. When in doubt by quality. What yu buy will be alot about personal preference.

    For 5.56 any quality AR-15.

For 7.62 DSA FAL, the PTR91 would be a close second.

That said, I prefer my HK91 to any FAL. And I prefer my SIG 550 to any AR-15.

My gosh just about any "Black Rifle" one can get !!! I can't believe some of the numbers out there. Try and pick up on of the AUG clones as they are somewhat more available rifles. I keep seeing alot of FN PS 90's out there but too exotic on the ammo issue. Any quality AR Colt, LMT, DSA,LWRCI etc. I think any gun that will take an AR type mag will be hot to trot as there a metric ton of those mags out there. Just one thing get what you like and would use, try and avoid speculation as the prices might not work out to be in your favor.

In the world market, 7.62x39 is probably the caliber rifle to own, so if you were to own some sort of AK variant, you will always be able to find parts and ammo. In the US market, 5.56x45 is more likely the better choice. AR part will always be available, and .223 will be less affected by import restrictions on milsurp ammo.

Sorry, but this thread was started with no HK specific content.
Common sense isn't so common anymore...
