Assuming I had the barrel, what tools does one need to pull the existing barrel and install the new one?
BTW guys, it seems AAC300 is really optimal for shorter barrels and suppressors. AAC's presentation says the barrel life is greater than 30,000 rd where the average 5.56 is 9k.
So, this would be optimal on a like a G36c suppressed. All you need is a new barrel. So, who's first to try it?

I've actually been thinking about this as well. Especially because of how quiet you can get the .300BLK. I had emailed a few companies that re-bore/re-chamber AR barrels and none had experience with SL8/G36's.
I know the shorter you go, the closer the gas block has to be to the action. From what I've read, the .300BLK does better with DI than piston. I kinda lost interest in this project when I saw the Honey Badger. Still, if someone could pull this off, I'd be interested.
I know this thread is pretty dead, but has anyone tried this yet, or interested in it. I just picked up a new spare barrel on GB and want to give it a shot.
I'd be interested to see if you can put something together. I already have a bolt rifle and pistol-AR in 300BLK
I'm still tinkering with the idea. I found a few parts and a gun smith that can make a new barrel.
SL8/G36 (custom conversion), USC/UMP5 (custom conversion), HK45 (LEM comming soon), HK78, HKP2A1
in to seeing what can happen.
What are you gonna use for a bolt head?
MR762 bolt head? >_>
Current: HK4 (.32/.22), VP70Z 9mm, P9S 9mm, P7 PSP (A), P30LS LEM 9mm, MP5A2-PCS, G36K CQB, PSG-8, PTR51-PCS, PTR-91 GI
Past: Mark 23, USP45, USP45 Gray, USP45T, USP40 FBI, USP9c, P2000SK v2 LEM, P30L 9mm, USC, UMP, G36K (Chop), MKE AT-94K, MR556A1, M3 Super 90, CA89, PTR-91F <-Sad list.
It would use the same bolt head. .300 BLK uses a trimmed, re-necked .223 case.
I am currently waiting on a few company's to give me quotes for the barrel. 14.5" threaded. going to permanately attach an AAC flash hider for 16" total.
Pac-Nor, Hart, Kreiger and Brux is who ive messaged. I will post the prices as they come.
If people would be interested in a group buy I would see if we could get the cost down a bit.
