    Default Mp5 cocking handle on a HK93 or 53

    Can/would the smaller mp5 cocking handle work on a 53 or 93?

It could be done, sure. But why? You will lose the camming advantage to unlock the carrier and charging would become a hell of a lot harder. The Germans figure everything should cause some degree of pain or you're some kind of wuss, but even they gave you the easier mode of charging the gun. Why not go the other way with the larger, longer extended 21/23 handle like I did?

But if you aren't going to shoot it a lot and really just want something different, knock yerself out.

The reason behind my question is that I put a rather large scope on my 93 and I'm having clearance issues when trying to lock the bolt back at the range.

I know the msg and PSG addressed this issue with a longer and properly adjusted cocking tube. I'm not really wanting to go through the hassle and expense of installing a longer cocking tube. The shorter mp5 style handle will provide the clearance I need.

I should have asked this, other than the cocking handle would any other pieces be needed for the swap?

Check out Brethren Armaments Straight pull cocking handle option. It replaces the cocking tube support, and they mod the spring on the carrier lock.

Its not from everyone, but I like mine.

Its described under "Straight Pull Back" section here:
