any news on the HK417 civilian model yet? I'd like to get my hands on one before Obama takes office and everything will be too late.

There is no new information as far as I know.

Just stay tuned here since HKPRO seems to have the inside scoop.

I don't think they will take that issue up early. They have other big fish to fry like Iraq and afganistan

Last I heard the US military was not interested in the H&K or pulling out of Iraq!

maybe instead of waiting, I'll get that LWRC .308, it's pretty much the same thing except HK has a better barrel. 2009, it seems only 1 year away

Take a look at the POF 308. I just read a test on it that said it will out shoot a PSG1! They said it was probably the best rifle they ever tested. The wait is probably less as the LWRC's are about 6 months for the 5.56s ( then they finally show up with no case, no paperwork, no manual, no warranty card, just a gun in a cardboard box for $2K)

Then you really won't be interested in a custom 1911 company, you may have heard of it..........Les Baer.

And guess what they ship in. A plain old cardboard box.

If your buying quality do you give a **** what it's shipped in?

I had to laugh when I picked up my LB Thunder Ranch and it was in a plain brown box! But after you shoot one it takes two days to get the grin off your face.
