    Default USC Magazines

I did a search and didn't turn up much of anything except about USC/UMP conversions.

My question is this...Does anybody make a 20 round or larger capacity magazine for the USC without having to convert to the UMP or Grease Gun mag lowers?

Sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find any threads on this subject. I am just having a tough time justifying blowing $3000 on a full blown UMP conversion and six or eight mags to go with it for the end result if I can get higher capacity mags and keep my stock USC. Don't get me wrong...I love the folding stock UMP conversuions, but I just don't see it being worth the investment of cash required to get it to that point.

Probably not. The reason why the conversions have more capacity is that they are using the already made UMP or grease gun mags for higher capacity. These are built on a double stack mag design. The USC is built on a single stack design. Doubling your round count in single stack is going to make that magazine very long and mighty silly looking.

I suppose somebody could design an aftermarket that had a transition from double stack to the single stack mag well. But we are talking about some serious money/resources to design something that there is not a huge market for (hell, even HK cannot decide if they want to keep the thing in production/import).

    Default USC 20 round mags

This sight has some interesting USC things. I have not ordered from them, so I can't vouch on quality or anything. They do advertise a 20 round usc mag.

    Hope this helps.

Nice website and definitely some interesting products. I'm not sure that $130/mag solves my cost-containment problem. By the time I get several of those mags, I'd be up to the cost of a UMP conversion in no time. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

I'll drop them a line and see what I can find out about availability. Their site is filled with "slow moving" customs issues, delays, etc., so it may be a dead-end (or at least a dying end).

Thanks for the responses, Gents. Much appreciated.

HDPS has a 50 round Pro Mag drum that they are(where?) selling that looks promissing for single stack USC owners.

    Default It's not the coolest......

It's also not very functional. Two 10 rounders magsenched (sp) are the best funtional option IMHO. But for those looking for an option I guess the 20 would work....... Someday...(sigh)......I will have the full up SBR ump mod.......someday.........

Well, I tried calling LanWorld...no good. I sent them an e-mail asking about the availability of their USC mags and the stock/grip conversion. I am really just interested in the mags, but I figured others here might want to know about the other USC parts/accessories so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I'll let you know what I hear back.

That is definitely a loooooong mag. No questions about it. I am not sure that a 20-round single stack mag is going to be all that shorter than a 30-round M3 mag. That said...I don't know that either are all that functional because they are so long. The more thought I give to this whole project, the more tempted I am just to leave the USC alone in its stock configuration and buy a @#$% AR in 9mm so that I can have a pistol carbine with 20+, 30+ and 100 round mags/drums that are readily available!! I know, I know...blasphemous!!! :D

This is just a giant problem created by HK to start with and their failure to support the US consumer market by not offering the features we are all clammoring for!! ;) Ok...off my soapbox now. Like I said...I'll let you know what I find out.

I wonder what shooting prone is like with the long 20 rnd mag. I really like the USC. It shoots so nice! HDPS is definately the way to go if there is a conversion in order. I have three stock black USC's right now. Ideally I'd like to leave one stock, make a title 1 conversion, and a SBR one. And if I win lotto a 9mm one would be pretty sweet too!

I agree on the Mag Cinch option - I use it on my USC non-conversion. It's pretty quick to change mags on that rifle with very little practice. Still, much more fun to shoot my conversion with 25 rounds at the ready.
