I did this... Granted, replace .308 with 7.62x54r... Let's just say that's not gone well... She's back to .22 now. She's afraid of my 9mm Ruger.So let her shoot a 308... she'll forget all about that 45 being scary...

I took my GF to an indoor range and she decided her first gun to ever shoot would be my EDC compact 45. I didnt think it would be a huge ordeal but I forgot about the percussion wave you feel in an indoor range with no acoustic dampening. She almost blew my leg off after the shot cause she was like in shock and started waving the gun around till I snatched it from her. The RO freaked out. I put her on a 22 and she would barely shoot it after. That is why I wondered if your woman liked it or just did it for you.
In my gf's defense the other day we were watching TV and she asked about the "can" on the guys gun, and I asked her where she heard that term (I don't talk gun to her ya know). Apparently she picked up a couple suppressor books off my toilet and read them. lol.
I think it is cool some of yall have chicks that dig the gun thing. I have a smokin hot female friend that really digs it. She is like a female me only 10 years younger so I keep her at arms length.
